Write to your MP about bird shooting

The shooting industry breeds up to 60 million pheasants and partridges every year, just to shoot them for ‘fun’. But the cruelty doesn’t stop there ...

  • The birds are often bred on huge factory farms, where the parent birds are imprisoned in tiny cages.

  • To keep the birds alive until shooting season, gamekeepers trap and kill vast numbers of corvids, such as crows and magpies, and other animals who are labelled a threat or a nuisance. The persecution of birds of prey is also linked to the shooting industry.

  • The release of millions of pheasants and partridges into the countryside ahead of shooting season has terrible consequences for other birds who are forced to compete for food and habitat.

Animal Aid is calling for a total ban on the breeding, release and killing of pheasants and partridges for the shooting industry.

Please help our campaign by writing to your MP, bringing much-needed attention to how this cruel industry is killing our countryside.
